Utilizing Affective Stage Directions A Workshop with Bess Rowen, PhD

Have you ever wondered about stage directions in general? Or affective stage directions in particular? Or why Bess gets so excited about these intriguing textual tools? Come and take a deeper dive into the lines between the lines!

This 90-minute workshop approaches affective stage directions (think less "he dies" and more "he disappears down a cosmic pipeline attached to his mother's hell") from the perspective of playwrights, actors, and directors. You will get a chance to perform, write, and direct some fun affective stage directions as Bess takes her research off the page and onto the stage.
